Children's Ministry

"Train Up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old, he will not depart form it." (Proverbs 22:6)

We are mindful that the effectiveness of our present children’s ministry will be seen five to ten years later – in our children’s teenage years. We are careful therefore, to keep the end goal in mind for this ministry. We carefully select and review our ministry curriculum to assure that our teaching is age-appropriate and effective. We inform and encourage our parents to review children’s ministry lessons at home with their children and seek opportunities to come alongside our parents in the spiritual instruction of our children.

We are also careful in our selection of our teachers. Our teachers are fully vetted believers who love Christ and are committed to love and pray for these most treasured precious commodities – our children.

Purpose of Children's Ministry

We seek to come alongside and serve the parents and kids of Lake Hills Community Church to help them in bringing up their kids in the fear and admonition of the Lord.  We continue to pray for the kids that the Holy Spirit will convict their hearts regarding their sin, their lack of personal righteousness, and the judgment to come all toward a saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Current Curriculum

Old Testament
We will be teaching the kids about God's patience as He deals with Israelites in the desert.  Remember that He could have destroyed the older generation immediately after their rebellion and refusal to go into the Promised Land.  He did not since He is patient with these people, not wanting any to perish but all to come to repentance.  We then move to the most faithful generation of Israelites of all, the 2nd generation.  They are led by God's chosen servant Joshua and they enter the promised land at last.

New Testament
We are entering the last hours of Jesus.  The kids will learn about the Last Supper and the inauguration of the New Covenant by Jesus.  We will be teaching the kids about the promise of the Holy Spirit and how He helps the children of God to obey God and love God and man.  we then will go through the trials of Jesus and finish this month with Peter's denials.
